Reporting In....a Day late

As of Yesterday (my weigh in day) I GAINED 2.8 pounds last week! Since I am down 1.8 today from yesterday, I am not too bummed out - also because I know that I always temporarily gain when I have a bad cold....which I've had for a week now. Just this morning I finally feel like the cough is 'loosening up'. I've not been sleeping well because of the cold - and not moving much either, when I'm awake.

So, this week's gain is not something to worry too much about....except when you look at it in relation to the last month. Since it is the end of the month, I looked back at the pattern. Overall, for the month of March, I GAINED 2.6 pounds.

I am OK with a slow rate of loss....I am NOT OK with a slow rate of GAIN. And when I look at my weight on FEB 1....it is even worse; I was 208.2 that day, meaning that in the last 2 months I have officially gained 1 pound. Not good.

Looking back in my food journal, I notice that the last few weeks I've been a little lazy in my recording and I KNOW I've not been very disciplined in weighing and measuring.

Time to get back to the basics.

Weigh and Measure.
Write down EVERYTHING
Eat all my exchanges.
Drink all my water. (getting better there)
Move more.

Think more about what I am eating, about my goals. Don't be complacent.

To be honest, I have been so happy with the changes that have taken place in my mind and in my body that it has been a little too easy to let myself 'drift along' and lose sight of the final goal. It is good to enjoy where I am, but I need to keep looking ahead to what will be even better.

These are my jobs for this week.

Karyn, do you have a health food type store near you? If not, you should order some Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. I promise you, taking 2 tsp 3 times a day would seriously help with that phlegm and chesty cough.
If you drink it with at least 8 oz of COLD water, it's not too bad.
I even got my 7 year old to take it when she was sick and it helped immensely.
Anyway, I'm sorry you gained this month, please don't be too hard on yourself. You've had a lot of tough things going on.
And I bet when the warm weather gets there, you'll have such a boost of energy and your spirits will soar and your weight will plummet. :-)

good goals. I am stalled at the moment but trying to keep the focus on health right now since my body doesn't seem to want me to see a smaller number :P

Stick with it ;)

(OK Im distracted by TmcGees suggestion! let me know if that works :))
good plan. and all overshadowed by the MOVE MORE piece.
In tiny simple ways try and get as much movement as you can. "forget" sometime up or down a flight of steps so you need to 'run and get it' ---that kind of thing.

you can do this.

Hi, just popped over from Susanne's. Can I just say that looking at what you've accomplished, I am so envious and yet happy for you! That's amazing. I'm the one who's doing the 30 x 5 Challenge that Susanne's doing. So right now I'm very interested in moving more and shedding some winter weight. Congrats. Keep at it; you probably just hit a small plateau, and if you change up your routine or food, your weight will come down again.

If you want to move more, maybe, seeing as you are my firecracker, we could go for a little more rolling the hay. I checked the fire insurance on the barn and everything is in order. So when it warms up.....hehe.

I second the Braggs ACV. Works great for children as well.

I think it's great that you are *aware* and making changes before the tiny gain turns into a bigger one. It's all about tweaking, changing the program to what works over time.

Cheering you on!

I think your husband has a great plan lol. That always boosts the mood too *smile*. I know what you mean about being laxed about things. But you haven't really fallen off the wagon so I think getting back to basics is a great plan. You've done so well enjoy your success too.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Being sick certainly makes a difference in water retention. You also may not be as active as usual. Sounds like you've got a good plan to get back on track.
