A Quote from Annette

If you read my rant yesterday, and read the comments left, you've already seen this statement by Annette. But these few words of hers speak so eloquently what I believe should be our focus and our 'plan', that I wanted to highlight them on a post - all of their own.

"Health should be the goal.....weight loss is the reward along the way"

Well said, Annette.

I'm humbled but so glad my comment spoke to you like that!

I have come to believe this because this is the only time in all my weight loss efforts that I have seen the big picture.....they say wisdom comes with age so maybe that has something to do with it :)

Amen sister!
I just want to get to the point where my mind and my body recognize and only crave really "good" food.

I hate the prepackaged fake food, whether it's fat free or loaded with it, if it's highly processed it's just not good for me or for any other living creature. You know I once had mice in my pantry, and they wouldn't touch the packages of noodles with sauce? Or the white flour? That's why white flour lasts so long....even bugs don't like it and leave it alone.
You're on the right track, and you're doing so well!!

I try to eat food that retains its original density....food that has not been messed with....no, none proceessed foods...I dropped from 265 to 219 following a renewed diet that I dreamt up myself of only eating foods in their original format and density. The most proccessed food I would eat would be cherrios. Meat, nuts, fruits, vegetables...that's it. This made sense to me and worked...along with counting the calories to ensure that I was not eating too much. Oh one other thing I found is that I cook my own food to maintain control of the "proccessing".
