100 Pushups

I decided to do the 100 pushup challenge. (sorry, I have yet to learn to put links in my text - you can find this challenge at http://hundredpushups.com - well, what do you know? there is a link, automatically. Can you tell I'm not much of a geek?)

Today I did the initial test. I surprised myself by doing 5! That still puts me at level 1, but I really didn't expect to be able to do more than 1.

However, I feel like I did my treadmill for 1/2 hr - and after only a minute or so of work! I expect to have to do one of the "alternative" pushups at first, in order to get through the workout, AND I'll likely have to repeat weeks regularly, BUT I am looking forward to seeing my strength increase little by little.

This might also inspire me to do other workouts in a more disciplined way.

I've been avoiding committing to a workout routine, which is probably why the numbers on my scale haven't moved much lately.

Will keep you updated on my progress with this challenge.

Great to hear you've joined the 100 pushup challenge. It sounds great. I was thinking about starting it myself. So let me know how it goes for you.

I posted a couple of comments on your previous blog posts. Didn't want them to get lost.

I really love your blog, so far. Your story is great!

Hi Karyn, I think you were shanghaied into joining the challenge. :) Actually, you had joined back at the beginning but then I lost you because whenever I would click on your name by your comments, they would go no where. But I finally found you. Here's the link if you want to check out your original "join" comment: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6579691121312386696&postID=375324473372016529

And, yes, you can jump in any time. 15 pounds in 15 weeks sounds great! The last week is Thanksgiving, so when you lose the 15 pounds by then, you can sit down to dinner and be thankful for losing it. Or in my case, I'll be thankful for losing 100 pounds total (hopefully).

Just let me know when your weigh in day is and I'll post it next to your name in the updates I do every day, so I can know to check your blog for your WI update (in case you forget to leave it on my blog). So we can all see how you're doing and cheer you along.

I'll post this on my blog, too so others will know they can join whenever they want to.
